Lesson 5 of 6

Thinking in English

Stop translating in your head and build the daily habits of fluent speakers.

12 minLevel B2–C1

If you think in Urdu or Hindi and translate into English, you'll always be slow and your English will sound translated. Fluent speakers think directly in English. That's a skill you can train with simple daily habits, and it's the bridge from "good English" to real fluency.

When you don't know a word

Don't stop and translate. Describe around it: "the thing you use to open a bottle" instead of freezing on "bottle opener". Native speakers do this too. It keeps you talking and trains your English brain.
